The IDF and Shin Bet announced on Saturday that two terrorists from Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas had been killed in separate targeted airstrikes in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza. Among those killed were a company commander who participated in the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on Israel and a member of Hamas's Nukhba unit.

The first strike took place on Wednesday, killing Muhammad Abu Shalouf, a company commander in the military wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Abu Shalouf was among the terrorists who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, the strike followed extensive intelligence gathering that enabled forces to target him.

In a separate strike carried out on Friday, also in the Khan Younis area, Musa Atef Musa Abu Daouf, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas's military wing, was killed.

According to the IDF and Shin Bet, both terrorists had recently been involved in planning attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. They were also working to rebuild their organizations' capabilities in Gaza, in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The IDF and Shin Bet said the strikes were carried out to neutralize the immediate threats posed by the two terrorists, who had been working to advance further attacks.
