Hezbollah has been working over the past three months to rebuild its military capabilities and prepare for the possibility of renewed fighting with Israel, Reuters reported on Monday, citing Lebanese security officials and a source close to the organization. According to the report, Iran has transferred tens of millions of dollars to Hezbollah to support its rearmament efforts following the heavy losses it sustained during years of fighting.

The organization has taken advantage of the decline in hostilities since June to replenish its weapons stockpiles, prioritizing the acquisition of explosives and the production of explosive drones intended to target Israeli troops and military positions.

Over the past month, Hezbollah acknowledged that explosives seized by Lebanese authorities belonged to the organization and were intended for operations against Israel. A senior Hezbollah official and a Lebanese security source confirmed that the materials were designated for use in explosive drones.

Hezbollah Rebuilds Its Forces With Iranian Funding

Despite its efforts to rebuild, the sources said Hezbollah has not yet succeeded in restoring its fighting forces and weapons stockpiles to the desired levels. During battles in Bint Jbeil and the Ali Taher ridge, small Hezbollah units were left isolated while confronting IDF forces, following a combat strategy that relied on limited troop deployments and restricted use of anti-tank missiles.

Responding to the report, Hezbollah declared: "Attacking the Israeli occupation is our legitimate right. Our command structure has not been damaged."

According to Reuters, the military funding provided by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is in addition to approximately $200 million allocated to assist displaced families in Lebanon.

Israel Monitors Southern Lebanon as Regional Tensions Rise

Meanwhile, Hezbollah is preparing for the possibility that an escalation between the United States and Iran could trigger another round of fighting along Israel's northern border.

The IDF told Reuters that it is using remote monitoring systems to track developments in southern Lebanon, aiming to reduce the risks faced by Israeli soldiers.

In Washington, officials emphasized that the United States would continue targeting Hezbollah's sources of funding through sanctions and additional measures. The U.S. Treasury Department stated that Iran's financial capacity to transfer funds is becoming increasingly limited.
