IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the Northern Command and the 91st Division on Wednesday, where he warned Hezbollah against attempting to rebuild its military capabilities along Israel’s northern border and called for the accelerated integration of advanced robotic systems into IDF combat operations.

Zamir was accompanied by Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, Ground Forces commander Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan, 91st Division commander Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaz, and other senior officers. During the visit, he conducted a situational assessment, toured the Al-Khiyam area, observed a demonstration of a new robotic combat team model, and met with brigade commanders operating in the sector.

“The situation on the ground is constantly changing, but our commitment remains unwavering: to maintain strong defenses along our borders and ensure the safety of northern Israel’s residents,” Zamir said. “We will not allow Hezbollah to establish terrorist infrastructure in the area. Any attempt to rebuild its presence, strengthen its capabilities, or threaten northern communities will be met with an immediate and forceful response.”

Zamir accused Hezbollah of serving Iranian interests at the expense of Lebanon and its population. “Throughout the war, Hezbollah once again demonstrated that it is an Iranian proxy, not a Lebanese patriot,” he stated. “Its actions have harmed Lebanon’s national interests and its citizens.”

The chief of staff also emphasized the military’s readiness to respond to threats across multiple fronts. “The IDF remains vigilant in the face of developments both near and far and is prepared to strike any enemy that seeks to harm us, just as we have done in the past.”

Advancing Robotic Warfare on the Battlefield

During the visit, Zamir highlighted the IDF’s expanding use of advanced technology, praising Brigade 769 and the 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Battalion for presenting a new robotic combat team model designed to enhance operational effectiveness and improve troop protection.

“This model reinforces the principle that the IDF must stand between threats and the civilian population, while introducing an innovative approach in which robotic and technological systems operate ahead of and alongside our forces,” Zamir said. “These capabilities increase operational effectiveness while strengthening the protection of our troops.”

Describing the initiative as a significant technological advancement, Zamir praised the close cooperation between Northern Command and the Ground Forces and instructed commanders to accelerate the deployment of robotic systems throughout combat units.

“This represents a major leap forward,” he said. “We must continue accelerating the integration of robotic capabilities into our fighting forces to establish a decisive operational advantage and achieve superiority on the battlefield.”
