Question

Question: Can a woman in menstruation enter a synagogue? This concerns a woman whose son is called to the Torah and it is difficult to miss such an event.
What is she supposed to do? Thank you.

Answer

Hello,

She is permitted to enter the synagogue (see Rema, Orach Chaim 258, and Mishnah Berurah 6), but she should be careful not to look at the Torah when it is being lifted (Mishnah Berurah there in the name of the Chayei Adam).

Sincerely,

Hillel Meir
