Reciting the Verse "Open Your Hand" Before the Blessing on Bread

AA

Question

Dear Rabbi,

I am Sephardi, and when we make *Kiddush* on Friday night, we say before the blessing on the bread, "The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time. You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor."
Is this permissible, or does it create a separation between the washing and the blessing?

Respectfully,

Omer Gizi

Answer

Greetings and blessings,

There is no interruption for those who practice this way. You may continue this custom.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmueli
