Michael on My Right, Gabriel on My Left, Small Tallit.
Question
Hello, esteemed Rabbi,
1) I saw on your website the verse: "In the Name of Hashem, the God of Israel, Michael on my right, and Gabriel on my left, and Oriel before me, and Raphael behind me, and upon my head the Divine Presence:"
It is also written that it is part of the Kriat Shema before going to sleep.
The verse does not appear in the prayer books of the Eastern communities in the Kriat Shema before going to sleep.
I wanted to ask at what point in the Kriat Shema one can add its recitation?
2) If the small tallit is made of cotton with an Ashkenazi tzitzit knot tied on one corner, is it allowed to tie a Sephardic tzitzit knot on this corner (with 3 corners having the Ashkenazi knot and one corner having the Sephardic knot)?
Will the small tallit be kosher in this case?
Thank you.
Answer
Hello and blessings
If one wishes, one can add it here between these two verses.
2. It is kosher. It is preferable to do everything the same way.
Blessings,
