Does being born on Yom Kippur have special significance?
Question
If a person is born on Yom Kippur, does this have special significance and what is it? Thank you very much
Answer
Greetings,
It is written in Tractate Shabbat (page 106a and Rashi there) that someone who is born on Shabbat shall be distinguished and holy, as it is stated in the verse (Exodus 20:11) "for in six days Hashem made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed." It might be that the same applies to one born on Yom Kippur, which is described as (Leviticus 23:27) "a sacred assembly," but this is not certain.
May you be inscribed for a good year,
