What Prayers May Be Recited Without a Minyan?

AA

Question

Honored Rabbi, Shalom. I would like to know which parts of Shacharit and Mincha prayers may be recited without a minyan, and until what time may the Birkot HaShachar, Shacharit, Mincha, and the Bedtime Shema be recited? Thank you.

Answer

Shalom,

a. If it is not possible to pray with a minyan, one may recite the entire prayer without a minyan, omitting the following sections: Kaddish, Barchu, and the chazzan's repetition.

b. The Birkot HaShachar and the blessings over the Torah are recited in the morning; however, if necessary, they may be recited throughout the day. The blessing "Elohai Neshama" is not recited if one has already prayed the Shemoneh Esrei.

Shacharit is prayed until the conclusion of its designated time, as indicated in the calendars. If delayed, it may be recited until midday. Mincha time begins half an hour after midday and continues until sunset.

From nightfall, Ma'ariv may be prayed until the end of the night. The Bedtime Shema is recited before sleeping if one goes to sleep before dawn.

With success, Menashe Yisrael
