Bracha over scenting herbs for zaatar
Question
Hello, esteemed rabbi,
Is it permitted to recite the bracha for spices over crushed zaatar that is sold in stores? If so, what bracha is recited?

Hello,
For zaatar that is intended for eating, one should recite borei minei besamim. If you designated the zaatar for smelling only, one should recite borei atzei besamim.
