Is It Possible to Recite the After-Blessing Outside the Place Where One Ate?

AA

Question

Hello, If I ate or drank something in a certain place and did not have time to recite the after-blessing at that moment, can I still recite it when I am outside that place? Does the blessing still count? Thank you in advance

Answer

Hello, Ideally, one should recite Birkat Hamazon in the place where one ate, and the same applies to Borei Nefashot and Al HaMichya. However, if you recited it in the place where you remembered, you have fulfilled your obligation (see Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, siman 184, seifim 1 and 3; Shu"t Yabia Omer, vol. 9, Orach Chaim, siman 108, letter d; and Halacha Berurah, siman 178, seif 18, and Biur Halacha there, letter 16).

With blessings,
