Is the name Michal good for a girl?

The name Michal is good for a girl.

Sources: In the book Shemot BaAretz (pp. 114-115), it was brought in the name of the Grach Kanievsky zt"l that in giving the name "Michal" to a girl, although it is written (II Samuel 6:23) that she had no child until the day of her death, she had already been punished and atoned for, and she was righteous, etc. In a note there, he brought what Rashi wrote on that verse, that she had no child from that day onward, implying that before then she did have a child. And so it is stated explicitly in the Radak בשם Chazal. The Radak also wrote that only until the day of her death did she have no child, but at her death she had a child. End quote. It is likewise brought in the book Yeshuot Mordechai (p. 118) in the name of Grach Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l, that the name Michal is good for a girl.
