Eating Chestnuts

Rabbi, hello and greetings,
1. Is it permitted to eat chestnuts, roasted in the oven after being soaked in water and soap?
Is there no concern of worms? Is there another way?
2. Is it permitted to wear black pantyhose of less than 40 denier?

1. There is no concern.
2. It is permitted. Usually it is completely opaque and the leg is not visible even at 20 denier.
