Avoiding Physical Contact on Public Transportation

AA

Question

Shalom, Rabbi. I travel a lot on the light rail and on public buses, and they are very crowded. Sometimes I end up touching the people around me, including boys.

Is this a problem of physical contact?

Answer

Shalom and blessings.

One should make a very great effort not to touch, but if there is unintentional contact because of the crowding, there is no prohibition at all.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmuali
