Shopping at a Store Open on Shabbat
Question
Good afternoon, esteemed Rabbi. I would like to know if it is permissible to eat on a weekday at a place that sells kosher food such as ice creams, snacks, and candies, but the store is also open on Shabbat. Thank you very much.
Answer
Greetings, In principle, it is permitted to buy snacks and the like that have certification from a store that is open on Shabbat (of course, not food prepared in that store). However, it is preferable, if possible (if the prices are roughly equal and there is no extraordinary inconvenience), to buy from and support stores that observe Shabbat.
