Vidui in the Month of Elul

Question

Hello, I wanted to ask whether in the month of Elul one recites vidui in Keriat Shema al HaMitah? And in general I would be glad to know about vidui in Keriat Shema. I know that it is not said on Friday night, Shabbat, and Yom Tov. But, for example, after midnight on an ordinary night, is it permitted to say vidui? And when vidui is not said on the holidays, does that apply for the entire holiday? Thank you

Answer

Shalom rav, One recites vidui in the month of Elul, and also after midnight. One does not recite vidui throughout the entire holiday, and also on Motzaei Yom Tov one does not recite vidui before midnight. See https://www.hidabroot.org/question/237936 Bivracha, Hillel Meirs
