What is the maximum length of hair permitted for a man?

AA

Question

I want to grow my hair to a length of about 10 to 15 cm. Is that permitted? Does it interfere with tefillin?

Answer

Hello and blessings,

There is no absolute prohibition in the matter; however, long hair can cause the tefillin not to sit properly in place. In general, too, it is not recommended for a man to grow his hair too much, because this draws judgments upon the person.

With blessings,

Binyamin Shmueli
