Mikveh a Week Before the Cycle
Question
Hello,
I have been married for 3 years, and I decided that I want to begin immersing in the mikveh after never having done so since the wedding. My cycle is supposed to be in a week. Can I go immerse now, or do I have to wait only until after the cycle?
Answer
Hello and blessings,
You are praiseworthy for having merited to strengthen yourself and take upon yourself this sacred and precious mitzvah, beyond measure. There is no doubt that through the fulfillment of this mitzvah, great light and abundant blessing will come upon you in all areas and in all matters, and all your wishes will be received with mercy and favor before the Master of all.
I suggest that you send us a phone number, and a qualified instructor on our behalf will return to you at no charge to study all the laws of purity with you properly.
It is not possible to immerse without counting seven clean days. If you have already counted seven clean days, you may immerse even a week before your cycle. If you have not counted seven clean days and will not be able to immerse until your cycle, relations should be avoided from now until after the immersion.
I repeat my suggestion that you send us a phone number, and an instructor on our behalf will return to you, so that you will be well versed in the laws of purity and do this in the best and most correct way.
With blessings and great appreciation,
Benjamin Shmueli
