Is it permitted to recite Birkot HaShachar in pajamas?

AA

Question

Hello,

1. I would like to know whether Birkot HaShachar are recited standing or sitting. Is it possible to recite Birkot HaShachar in the clothes we woke up in, pajamas?

2. Is the blessing of Asher Yatzar recited every time one leaves the bathroom, even if that is many times a day?

Answer

Greetings,

1. Birkot HaShachar may be recited while sitting. It is permitted to recite Birkot HaShachar in pajamas.

2. Indeed, every time one goes to the bathroom, one recites the blessing of Asher Yatzar. The exception is a person who has diarrhea and knows that he will shortly go to the bathroom again; it is preferable that he not recite it immediately.

With blessings, Binyamin Shmuali
