Mincha Prayer for Women
Question
Hello,
I would like to know exactly which sections I should recite in the Mincha prayer on a weekday and in the Mincha prayer on Shabbat?
Should I say "Vayedaber Hashem el Moshe leimor"?
Should I say "Uva l'Tziyon Goel" and the section in Aramaic?
I would appreciate a detailed answer.
Thank you
Answer
Greetings,
1. According to the custom of Ashkenazi women, there is an obligation to pray every day Shacharit and Mincha (Mishnah Berurah, Siman 106, Sk. 14).
According to the custom of Sephardi women, there is an obligation to pray one prayer a day. They may choose to pray Shacharit, Mincha, or Maariv, but it is preferable that they choose the Shacharit prayer (Responsa Yabi'a Omer, Vol. 6, Orach Chaim, Siman 17).
2. In the Mincha prayer, it is sufficient to pray the Eighteen blessings. Nevertheless, it is appropriate to say Ashrei before, and afterwards, we say Aleinu L'shabeach. On Shabbat, it is also appropriate to say Uva l'Tziyon, including the sections in Aramaic. There is no need to say Vayedaber Hashem, etc. (See Responsa Mahaze Eliyahu, Vol. 1, 2019 Edition, Page 113).
