Buying School Supplies During the Nine Days
Question
Dear Rabbi, peace and blessings,
1. Is it permissible during these days (the Nine Days) to buy school supplies for children?
2. Is it permissible to buy clothing, shoes (end-of-season sales) and to renew them after Tisha B'Av?
I would appreciate your response.

Dear,
1. It is permitted. Nonetheless, it is preferable to postpone until after Tisha B'Av.
2. If the sale will not be valid after Tisha B'Av, or there is concern that the items you are interested in will not remain available - it is permitted (see Or L'Tzion, part 3, page 244, s.v. however).
