After several days of investigation, security forces arrested two Palestinians suspected of involvement in causing the fire that tore through Havat Gilad. Community leaders welcomed the arrests and called for the harshest possible penalties.

According to the IDF, Abu Hadaid served as a commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s production unit, which was responsible for manufacturing and supplying weapons to the organization. The military said he was involved in advancing the group’s production capabilities and led infrastructure focused on developing weapons intended to target IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
