The IDF is continuing targeted offensive operations on both the northern and southern fronts, and today (Thursday) reported a series of targeted eliminations of terror operatives, including senior figures involved in carrying out attack plans against Israel.

In southern Lebanon, the IDF, guided by the 210th Division and Military Intelligence (Aman), struck yesterday (Wednesday) in the Sidon area and killed Maher Qassem Hamdan, who served as the commander of the terrorist organization the Lebanese Brigades in the Shebaa area. According to the IDF, Hamdan was a central figure in the organization and, in his role, was responsible for recruiting militants, supplying weapons, and funding activity in the area.

It was further reported that the organization, which operates in southern Lebanon, is funded by Hezbollah and directly linked to it, with its members taking an active part in carrying out attack plans against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. Hamdan was killed along with seven additional militants as they fled from the Shebaa area toward Sidon.

The IDF and the Shin Bet announced in a joint statement that earlier this week in the Gaza Strip, Abd al-Rahman Ammar Hassan Khoudri, an operative in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) who worked to advance a terror plan against IDF forces in the northern Strip, was killed. It was also noted that Khoudri was involved in the raid on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7 attack.

Alongside his elimination, the forces struck three additional militants affiliated with Hamas, as part of the effort to thwart ongoing terror activity in the area.

The IDF emphasized that the operations are intended to remove immediate threats and damage terror infrastructure, and clarified: "The IDF will continue to act forcefully against the Hezbollah terrorist organization and remove any threat to the State of Israel." It was also stated that "IDF and Shin Bet forces are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat."
