Israel’s Defense Minister: Iran Must Remove Enriched Uranium Before the Campaign Ends
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Israel Katz says Iran’s nuclear program and its ability to produce a nuclear weapon have been destroyed, and that the U.S. and Israel require the removal of enriched material from Iran as a precondition to ending the campaign; he adds that Tehran’s proxies have been dealt heavy blows but vows to finish the job.

Katz (Photo: Flash90)Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a statement this afternoon (Tuesday) addressing the campaign against Iran. He said, "The enriched material could serve as the basis for an attempt to restart the nuclear project. Therefore, the United States and Israel have defined the removal of the enriched material from Iran as a threshold condition for ending the campaign."
At the beginning of his remarks, Katz referred to Holocaust Remembrance Day and noted, "On this day, the State of Israel is stronger and more secure, and for the first time in many years is not threatened with annihilation. This is the result of the elimination of Ali Khamenei, who conceived of and led the plan to destroy Israel by virtue of his position, capabilities, and religious authority".
Regarding Iran's nuclear program, Katz stressed: "The 'Am Kalavi' and 'Roar of the Lion' operations destroyed Iran's nuclear program and its ability to produce a nuclear weapon".
On Lebanon and Iran's proxies, the defense minister added: "Iran's proxies in the region, from the collapsed Syrian regime to Hezbollah and Hamas, were dealt heavy blows and lost their ability to pose a strategic threat to Israel. What remains of their strength still needs to be addressed, and we are doing and will do so with full commitment and with maximum force".
