U.S. Embassy in London Issues Rare Europe-Wide Alert Amid Anti-Jewish Attacks

The United States Embassy in London has issued an official alert urging American citizens to remain on heightened alert in the United Kingdom and across Europe. The warning follows a series of attacks and threats targeting Jewish and American institutions, including arson and attempted assaults.

The notice calls on citizens to exercise extra caution, particularly when visiting synagogues, schools, and community centers. While issued in London, the advisory applies more broadly across Europe, amid a concerning rise in threats against Jewish communities. Americans are also urged to review their personal security measures and stay vigilant in crowded areas and popular tourist sites.

The alert comes after a string of serious incidents described as a coordinated intimidation campaign. In London, ambulances were set on fire near a synagogue, and Molotov cocktails were thrown at Jewish buildings in several locations. Similar incidents have been reported in other cities, along with attempted attacks on Jewish educational institutions.

British security officials are investigating possible links to actors operating on behalf of hostile states. Several suspects have been arrested on suspicion of planning further attacks, including one detained near an Israeli mission.

The UK prime minister addressed the incidents, warning that the use of external actors is “a real and growing concern.” He said the government is moving to strengthen counterterrorism legislation, including measures targeting organizations linked to hostile states.
