The IDF Spokesperson reported yesterday (Monday) that Northern Brigade forces, together with the Yahalom combat engineering unit, have destroyed approximately 14 kilometers of underground tunnel routes in northern Gaza. Around 70 militants were also killed during the operations.

According to the IDF, the activity has been carried out in recent months under the command of Division 252, with the main effort focused in the northern Gaza Strip, particularly in the Beit Hanoun area east of the “yellow line.” As part of the operation, forces have been working to locate and dismantle Hamas underground infrastructure used for military operations and attacks against IDF troops.

So far, approximately 14 kilometers of tunnels have been neutralized. The IDF reported that living quarters and large quantities of weapons were found inside the tunnels, pointing to their extensive operational use. The military said forces continue to operate systematically to clear the area.

Additionally, the IDF also stated that about 70 militants were killed in recent months after, according to the military, they violated the ceasefire and posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces.

The IDF added that troops under Southern Command remain deployed in the area in line with the ceasefire framework, while continuing to act against any immediate threats.
