According to the report, a majority of Members of the European Parliament believe the Palestinian Authority did not fulfill its promise to carry out the "textbook reform." The lawmakers condemned the PA curriculum and called to condition and even freeze European funding.
It is worth noting this is the seventh consecutive year the Parliament has voted for a resolution stating that Palestinian textbooks continue to include antisemitism, incitement to violence, and the glorification of shahids and jihad.
The adopted decision states that "the Palestinian Authority must remove all educational materials that do not meet UNESCO standards, in particular those that include antisemitism, incitement to violence, the glorification of jihad and shahids, and the rejection of peaceful solutions." The decision will be forwarded for implementation by the European Commission, which is the executive body that allocates the budgets.
