Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday evening, at the opening of the security cabinet meeting, that Israel and the United States are engaged in ongoing talks and coordination regarding the agreement with Iran. He clarified that there is direct, continuous contact between Jerusalem and Washington at the political and security levels.
In his remarks, Netanyahu emphasized that he holds frequent calls with U.S. President Donald Trump, and that the working teams on both sides are in regular contact: "We maintain ongoing contact with our friends in the United States. I speak with President Trump almost on a daily basis. My people and his people are talking on a daily basis, including today. And I will speak later tonight with President Trump as well."
Netanyahu made clear that there is full coordination between Israel and the United States regarding how to confront Iran, stressing that there are no gaps between the countries on the key goals. In his words, "There is full coordination between us, no surprises. We share common goals, and the most important goal is removing the enriched material from Iran, all the enriched material, and dismantling Iran's enrichment capabilities."
The prime minister added, "President Trump believes he can achieve this one way or another. We, however, are prepared for any scenario, and that is my directive to the IDF and our security agencies as well." He concluded by saying, "Israel is stronger than ever; Iran and its proxies are weaker than ever."
