Netanyahu to Shayetet 3 Commander: "You’re Stopping a Malicious Plan"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived today (Monday) at the Israeli Navy command bunker at the Kirya base in Tel Aviv, where he watched in real time as Shayetet 3 forces took control of the flotilla that had set sail from Turkey toward the Gaza Strip. Joining him on the visit were Defense Minister ישראל כ"ץ and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir.

Netanyahu received a professional briefing from Israeli Navy Commander Maj. Gen. Eyal Harel. He then spoke over communications with the commander of Shayetet 3 and praised the troops: "Please pass along my congratulations to all the soldiers in the unit. I think you are doing an exceptional job, both in the first flotilla and in this part as well, and are in fact stopping a malicious plan meant to breach the isolation we are imposing on Hamas terrorists in Gaza."

"You are doing it with tremendous success," Netanyahu added, "and I also have to say, quietly, and certainly with less visibility than our enemies expected — so my heartfelt congratulations. Keep going all the way." At the end of his remarks, the prime minister said: "The water looks absolutely wonderful. I’d like to be with you."
