According to a statement from local police, three people were injured and taken to hospitals in the area for medical treatment. The suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss citizen, was arrested shortly after the incident.
The attack took place at around 8:30 a.m. local time. According to police, large security and emergency response forces were called to the scene following reports of an armed man attacking passengers and pedestrians in the station complex. The circumstances of the incident are now being investigated by local authorities.
Witnesses described moments of panic at the scene. The Swiss newspaper "Blick" reported that it had obtained video footage from the station showing a man running outside the complex while shouting "Allahu Akbar." One witness said the man was holding a knife while people around him "screamed and fled the scene."
Initial reports from the scene said that at least four people had been injured in the attack, but local police later officially announced that three injured people were evacuated for medical treatment. At this stage, no additional information has been released about the condition of the victims.
