After Trump Announces a "Ceasefire": Home Front Command Allows Schools to Reopen Along the Northern Border
Israel’s Home Front Command is allowing students to return to school in northern border communities and is raising the cap on outdoor gatherings to 100 people, up from 50. In the Upper Galilee and the Golan, restrictions have been lifted entirely.

Nahariya (Photo: Yossi Aloni, Flash90)Following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, the Home Front Command said this evening (Tuesday) that it is lifting some of the restrictions imposed last week on communities along the confrontation line.
After a situational assessment, the Home Front Command’s defensive guidelines will be updated starting today at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 8:00 p.m.
The confrontation line guidance area and the communities of Meron, Bar Yochai, Or HaGanuz, Safsufa, Yesud HaMa’ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jan, and Sde Eliezer will move from a limited activity level to a partial activity level. Educational activities may be held in a building or in a location from which a standard protected space can be reached within the required protection time. Gatherings and services: outdoors up to 100 people, and indoors up to 400 people.
The guidance areas of the Upper Galilee, North Golan, and the communities of Katzrin and Kedmat Zvi will move to full activity with no restrictions.
