The IDF and Shin Bet announced this evening (Thursday) that they had eliminated senior members of the general security apparatus of the Hamas terror organization in the Gaza Strip. The targeted strike was carried out overnight (between Wednesday and Thursday), in attacks from the air and the sea. Among those killed was Hassan Rabah Hassan Labad, deputy head of the general security apparatus.
The general security apparatus is a central and clandestine unit responsible for protecting senior Hamas officials, handling communication between them, and coordinating their meetings. The unit’s senior members are tasked with securing top Hamas figures, moving them between emergency assets, and creating intelligence assessments, including gathering intelligence on security forces, which helps the organization’s leaders make decisions and carry out terror plans against the State of Israel.
In addition to Hassan Labad, the strike also killed the terrorists Asem Amin Shalash Shabir, Abdullah Atta Younes Abu Kaloub, and Muhammad Noman Zaki Abu Mark. All three were key figures in the apparatus’s decision-making process.
According to the IDF, the senior Hamas apparatus officials were killed in order to remove the threat, after they had recently been involved in efforts to rebuild Hamas and assist the organization’s leadership in advancing terror activity against the State of Israel and IDF forces.
