22 Countries Condemn Iran Over Attacks on Jews and Israelis Worldwide
The United States, Britain, and 20 other countries issued a joint statement calling on Iran to immediately stop assassination, kidnapping, and arson operations carried out on their soil. The statement says intelligence bodies tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including the Quds Force, are involved in planning and advancing assassination attempts, kidnappings, and attacks against civilians outside Iran’s borders.

The statement demanded that Tehran immediately stop all such actions.
The statement said that intelligence bodies of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including the Quds Force, which is responsible for operations outside Iran’s borders, as well as Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security, are involved in deadly plots and malicious operations against civilians in other countries: "We are united in our determination to protect our countries and our citizens from these threats. Iran must immediately put an end to such illegal activities in our territories".
The statement explicitly condemns murder attempts, kidnappings, harassment, and threats carried out in Europe, North America, and Australia: "Attempts to kill, kidnap, harass, intimidate, or attack people on our territory are a direct assault on our sovereignty and are contrary to international norms. These actions must stop immediately".
A separate part of the statement focused on the organization known as Harakat Asaib al-Yamin al-Islamiya. The 22 countries condemned the campaign of attacks the group has claimed responsibility for, which targeted Jewish communities, Iranian journalists, and American interests across Europe. According to findings by the U.S. Department of Justice, the organization is essentially a front for operations by Iran-backed proxy bodies, including Kataib Hezbollah.
The group has claimed responsibility for at least 18 different attacks in Europe since last March. Among the incidents: the torching of ambulances in Golders Green in London, the stabbing of two Jews in Golders Green, and the arson attack on the synagogue in Skopje — the first such attack on a synagogue in the modern history of North Macedonia — which took place last April. The group is also linked to additional attacks in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Germany.
The statement also sharply criticized the Revolutionary Guards’ use of local and international criminal organizations to carry out plots on foreign soil: "The links between Iranian intelligence services and international criminal organizations and local criminal groups are longstanding. Their use of these criminal networks is cynical and reprehensible". One prominent example cited was the cooperation between Iran and the Swedish criminal network known as Foxtrot, which was involved in attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets in Europe — including the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm in January 2024.
Australia was among the countries that acted most forcefully against Iran. Australia’s security service said Tehran was behind at least two antisemitic attacks on its territory: the arson attack on the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne in December 2024, and the attack on the kosher restaurant Lewis Continental Kitchen in Sydney in October 2024. In response, Australia expelled the Iranian ambassador, recalled its own ambassador from Tehran, froze embassy activity, and last November designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.
The statement was signed by the United States, Britain, Albania, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden. It was submitted following meetings held at U.N. headquarters over the past month, and it emphasized the need to deter all harmful Iranian activity — including nuclear activity and terrorism.
