Crispy Pan Fried White Fish Fillets
Tilapia, flounder, sole, or other mild white fish work well in this recipe.
Ingredients
6 white fish fillets, such as tilapia, flounder, or sole
1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour, sifted
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
Oil, for frying
Directions
Rinse the fish fillets and pat them completely dry with paper towels. This step is important, as excess moisture can cause the fish to fall apart during frying.
In a bowl, beat the egg.
In a separate shallow bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Dip each fillet into the beaten egg, then coat it in the seasoned flour mixture.
Fry for about 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer to paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Serve hot with lemon wedges, fries, mashed potatoes, and a fresh chopped salad.
