Sweet and Savory Plum Chicken Recipe: Easy Oven-Baked Shabbat Favorite
Tender chicken baked with plum sauce, white raisins, and warm spices creates a flavorful sweet-and-savory dish that’s perfect for Shabbat, holidays, or a family dinner

(Photo: shutterstock)5 chicken leg quarters 2 tablespoons oil A handful of white raisins ½ cup prepared plum sauce ½ teaspoon turmeric Salt and black pepper, to taste In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients except the chicken. Arrange the chicken leg quarters in a baking dish. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, coating it well. Place the entire baking dish inside an oven roasting bag (such as a turkey or cooking bag) and seal it according to the package instructions. Pierce the bag in two places to allow steam to escape. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 1 hour. Remove the roasting bag, reduce the oven temperature to 160°C (320°F), and continue baking until the chicken is golden brown and nicely caramelized. For garnish, sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken after baking, if desired.Ingredients
