For the Dough:
4 cups self-rising yeast flour
1 packet vanilla sugar
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups room-temperature water
For the Syrup Coating:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
Place all the dough ingredients in a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook.
Mix on low speed until a smooth batter-like dough forms, similar in consistency to thick cream. If needed, add a little more water.
Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
Prepare the Syrup
Combine the water, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until a slightly thin syrup forms.
Remove from the heat and set aside.
Fry the Donuts
Heat oil for deep frying.
Using a ladle, carefully scoop portions of the dough and drop them into the hot oil.
Fry on both sides until the donuts are golden brown.
Transfer them to a paper towel-lined surface to drain excess oil.
Dip each warm donut into the prepared syrup, allowing it to absorb the sweet cinnamon-lemon flavor.
Serve warm and enjoy these soft, fluffy donuts with their delicious syrup coating.
