As part of the operation, troops carried out a series of missions aimed at eliminating security threats and pushing Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure away from the area.
According to the IDF, Houla served as a significant Hezbollah stronghold throughout the fighting. During the ground operation, forces targeted terrorist infrastructure and operational centers while expanding their control of the area and continuing efforts to remove threats to troops operating in the sector.
The IDF said that more than 90 Hezbollah terror sites were destroyed during the operation. In addition, more than 20 operatives were killed, and soldiers uncovered more than 150 weapons during searches in the village.
The weapons seized included RPG launchers, anti-tank missiles, machine guns, and Kalashnikov-style rifles. According to the IDF, the findings further demonstrate the extent of Hezbollah's military entrenchment in the village and its use for terrorist activity.
As part of the ongoing operation, troops continue searching the area for additional weapons and infrastructure used by Hezbollah.
The IDF emphasized that the operation in Houla is part of its broader effort to eliminate threats within the security zone in southern Lebanon and protect Israeli forces operating in the area.
"The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to its forces and will not allow the Hezbollah terror organization to harm the citizens of the State of Israel," the military said.
