Footage released today (Monday) by the Hellenic Air Force shows Israeli aerial refueling aircraft conducting midair refueling of Greek Air Force F-16 fighter jets during a flight over the Aegean Sea.
The renewed activity marks the return of an operational partnership that the two air forces have built over many years. The cooperation includes joint exercises, knowledge-sharing, and preparation for complex long-range scenarios as part of the broader security relationship between Israel and Greece.
Beyond its operational significance, the move is also viewed as a demonstration of the strategic alliance Israel is strengthening in the eastern Mediterranean.
The resumption of joint exercises comes at a sensitive time in the region and reflects the continued defense cooperation between the two countries after months in which joint drills were suspended because of the fighting.
