The strikes were carried out in the northern and southern sectors of the Strip as part of ongoing operations to neutralize active threats to Israeli forces.
In the first strike, conducted the day before yesterday in northern Gaza, forces eliminated Ahmad Yahya Ibrahim Batash, a cell commander in Hamas's Nukhba elite unit. According to the IDF, Batash had been orchestrating terror attack plans against Israeli forces throughout the course of the war and continued to do so until recently.
In a separate strike carried out yesterday in southern Gaza, forces eliminated Hamouda Abu Daka, a commander in Hamas's military intelligence apparatus. The IDF stated that Abu Daka had been engaged in active intelligence-gathering on IDF forces in order to plan, direct, and execute attacks, and described him as posing an immediate threat to troops operating in the area.
The IDF emphasized that Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in full accordance with the existing agreement, and stated that they will continue to act decisively to eliminate any immediate threat to Israeli forces.
