(Photo: IDF Spokesperson)The IDF announced on Thursday that it had destroyed two underground Hezbollah terrorist infrastructures in the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon.
According to the military, forces from the 551st Brigade Combat Team, together with elite Yahalom combat engineering units operating under the 91st Division, uncovered numerous Hezbollah terrorist facilities in the village, which lies within Israel's designated security zone. The IDF said the findings indicate that "the village was heavily fortified and saturated with terrorist infrastructure."
In addition to a major underground tunnel network that was destroyed in the area, troops demolished two additional underground routes. Together, the tunnels stretched approximately 200 meters (656 feet) in length and reached a depth of about 20 meters (66 feet).
Inside the tunnels, Israeli forces discovered living quarters, three launch shafts aimed toward Israeli territory, and dozens of weapons.
During additional searches in the area, troops located a large weapons cache containing mortars, launchers, and RPG rockets. The IDF also reported that over the past week, brigade forces eliminated an armed Hezbollah operative near one of the underground tunnel systems.
