Netanyahu Heads to Washington for Talks With Trump

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will depart today (Monday) for a quick visit to the United States. Tomorrow, he is expected to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials. Netanyahu will also attend the memorial service being held in memory of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

According to sources in the Prime Minister's Office, the diplomatic talks will focus on the Iranian issue, and possibly also on developments in the arenas surrounding Israel.

The prime minister referred to the visit yesterday and said, "I will leave for Washington to meet, at his invitation, with President Trump, and afterward to take part in the memorial service for a great friend of Israel, Senator Lindsey Graham, who I have to say was one of Israel's greatest friends since its founding, and it is fitting that we pay him this honor. I will also speak with President Trump about all the issues on the agenda, including the situation in Iran."

Netanyahu said last night that as part of the preparations for the visit, he spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
