Gett Launches a New Feature for Parents: Order a Taxi With a Child Booster Seat

Gett is expanding the services it offers app users and launching a new pilot program that will allow parents to order taxis equipped with booster seats for children.

As part of the move, about 350 drivers connected to the app will be equipped with Cybex safety-brand booster seats intended for children ages 3 and up. The service will be offered at no additional charge beyond the metered fare.

The pilot is expected to begin during the month of August and, in its first stage, will operate only for rides within Tel Aviv. The service will be available between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and parents will be able to choose a booster-equipped vehicle at the time they book the taxi, without having to bring a safety seat themselves.

At Gett, they say that the drivers participating in the pilot will receive dedicated training from Cybex on proper booster-seat use and safe installation. The goal of the move is to ensure that the equipment is used correctly and provides children with the highest possible level of safety during the ride.

The company emphasizes that this is the first stage of a broader effort aimed at improving the user experience and expanding the range of services in the app. According to the company, if the pilot is deemed a success, the service is expected to expand later to additional areas.

Daniel Korkus, Gett’s VP of Marketing, said: "We are constantly looking for ways to make using the app more convenient and safer, from the booking process to the end of the ride. The collaboration with Cybex grew out of a real need among many parents, and it allows us to offer a high-quality solution that raises the safety standard during travel."

At Cybex as well, the move is seen as a meaningful step toward advancing child safety outside the family car. Noa Solomon, the company’s VP of Marketing, said: "Child safety does not begin and end with the private car. On every trip, children need to be buckled into a safety seat that matches their age, weight, and height, and is installed correctly."
