IDF Says About 30 Suspects Were Arrested in Crackdown on Illegal Entry Networks

IDF forces under the command of the Ephraim Brigade carried out a large-scale operation over the past week in villages along the seam zone, targeting infrastructure that assists illegal infiltration. That is according to a statement issued Tuesday by the IDF Spokesperson.

As part of the operation, the forces searched dozens of locations and arrested about 30 wanted suspects believed to be involved in smuggling undocumented individuals and aiding illegal entry attempts. The forces operated in Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Azzun Atma, Shuweika, and other villages.

The IDF said that "the activity is part of the Ephraim Brigade’s ongoing operational effort to thwart infiltration infrastructure in the seam zone, reduce the phenomenon of illegal presence, and strengthen the security of residents in the sector and the home front of the State of Israel."

The commander of the Ephraim Brigade, Col. P., said: "Defense in the seam zone begins with initiative and an offensive posture. A continuous presence deep inside the villages, focused activity against infiltration infrastructure, and ongoing friction with the enemy generate high-quality intelligence, enable strikes on the enemy, and help thwart terror infrastructure."

It should be noted that every day, police report the administrative closure of businesses across the country following the employment of Palestinians who are in Israel illegally. Dozens of infiltrators are arrested.
