Dutch police arrested three young people, two of them teenagers, as part of an ongoing investigation into terrorist organizations, the National Public Prosecutor’s Office said today (Wednesday).

According to a Reuters report, the three suspects, ages 16 to 19, were arrested in the cities of Alkmaar, Eindhoven, and Rotterdam. They are scheduled to appear before a magistrate on Friday. The three were arrested in coordinated overnight raids on their homes.

The Dutch newspaper "Eindhovens Dagblad" reported that the 19-year-old had previously been arrested for a similar offense. According to the report, three years ago he was suspected of planning attacks on nightclubs and police stations in Belgium. The plan was foiled. He was sentenced to 112 days in prison and ordered to complete 200 hours of community service. He was also barred from leaving the Netherlands after the court heard that he had spoken about joining the Islamic State terrorist organization (ISIS) in Afghanistan.
