Ramat Gan Man Charged With Attacks on News Outlets, Alleged Threats

The State Attorney’s Office today (Wednesday) filed an indictment in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court against Avraham Hadi, 44, of Ramat Gan, who is accused of throwing bricks at the doors of News 12, Haaretz, and the Justice Ministry. He is also accused of spray-painting a threatening message outside the offices of News 13. Prosecutors asked that Hadi be held in custody until the legal proceedings against him are completed.

According to the indictment, because of Hadi’s views about the judicial system and certain media outlets, including News 12, Haaretz, and News 13, he decided to damage their offices and the Justice Ministry building in Tel Aviv, threaten media employees, and extort News 12 employees through threats in an effort to make them apologize for their reporting on the Sde Teiman affair.

According to the indictment, at the end of July, Hadi left a threatening letter outside the door of News 12’s offices, in which he threatened to harm company employees, and then threw two bricks at the glass entrance door.

Earlier, in four additional incidents during July, Hadi threw bricks at the glass doors of News 12, Haaretz, and the Justice Ministry, with the aim of intimidating employees. In addition, in November 2025, Hadi spray-painted a threatening message on the wall opposite News 13’s offices that read: "More blood of the traitors to be published." After carrying out the acts, Hadi allegedly tried to destroy evidence and threw away the clothes he had worn.

The indictment charges Hadi with extortion by threats, making threats, malicious damage, defacing property, and obstruction of justice. The accompanying detention request stated that his actions point to a rapid and dangerous escalation.
