“Israel does not need to worry about the war with Iran resuming. I am the president, and I will take care of Israel.” That is what U.S. President Donald Trump said this evening (Wednesday) in a conversation with Kan 11.  Toward evening, it was reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the possibility of carrying out additional strikes in Iran today has not been ruled out.

This follows an Iranian strike on a Saudi vessel in the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on U.S. bases in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Israel is making defensive and offensive preparations in the event that Iran attacks.

Earlier this evening, the Saudi newspaper Al Hadath reported that the United States carried out a preemptive strike last night against an Iranian plan to damage undersea cables in the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, according to an American source, the Trump administration was tracking the movement of members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards from Iran to Lebanon. According to the source, there is suspicion that Lebanese security personnel were involved in issuing passports to Iranian operatives. The source said that U.S. officials are examining the possibility that Iranians crossed using Lebanese documents through Beirut airport and land border crossings.

Earlier today, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted: “I am not trying to force Iran back to the negotiating table. I do not care if they sign a worthless deal for them. I like our situation now much more, with almost complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. Their economy is completely collapsing.”
