The IDF announced today (Thursday) that earlier this week it killed two Hamas operatives from the organization’s military wing in the Gaza Strip, after they worked to advance attacks against Israeli security forces and civilians.

According to the IDF Spokesperson’s announcement, Alam was killed on Monday in an airstrike carried out in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza. The military said that during the October 7, 2023 terror attack, Alam infiltrated Israel and was involved in the murder of many Israeli civilians. In addition, he took part in the abduction of the body of Sgt. Shaked Dahan, may Hashem avenge his blood, by Hamas.

In a separate strike carried out on Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force killed Muatassem Mohammed Suleiman Salah, who was also an operative in Hamas’s military wing. The IDF said that in recent months, both operatives had continued engaging in terror activity while also working to restore the organization’s military capabilities.

The IDF Spokesperson said their activity included advancing terror plans against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians, in repeated violation of the ceasefire. As a result, the IDF decided to strike both men from the air to neutralize the threat they posed.

The IDF emphasized that, ahead of the strikes, measures were taken to reduce the risk of harm to uninvolved civilians. These included the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance intended to assist in carrying out the strikes.

It was also reported that IDF forces under Southern Command continue to be deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.
