The IDF announced Saturday night that it had carried out two airstrikes in the Gaza Strip over the previous 24 hours, killing several terrorists from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Among those killed were two Hamas Nukhba terrorists who attended a meeting in Gaza City, as well as a commander in Islamic Jihad's anti-tank missile unit.
According to the IDF Spokesperson, one of the strikes took place on Saturday, after terrorists from Hamas's Nukhba unit gathered for a meeting in Gaza City. The Israeli Air Force struck the meeting site, killing several members of the organization's military wing. Two of those killed were identified as Muad Mazen Hamza Hassouna and Mohammed Riyad Khader Arhim, both Nukhba operatives.
In a separate strike, the IDF targeted the Daraj Tuffah area of northern Gaza, killing Mohammed Walid Saadi Nakhaleh, a commander in the anti-tank missile unit of Islamic Jihad's military wing.
The IDF said the strikes were carried out in response to the terrorists' activities in recent days. According to the military, the operatives had been planning attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians while also working to rebuild Hamas's capabilities. The IDF said these activities constituted systematic violations of the ceasefire.
The military added that the strikes were intended to neutralize the threats posed by the terrorists. Before carrying out the attacks, the IDF said it took measures to minimize the risk of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
