The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced on Sunday that they eliminated Hisham Jamal Mohammed Abu Jalalah, a Nukhba platoon commander in Hamas's military wing, in the southern Gaza Strip last week. Abu Jalalah was involved in the assault on the Kissufim military outpost and the abduction of Israelis during the October 7 terrorist attacks.

According to the IDF, Abu Jalalah was among those who led the assault on the Kissufim outpost on October 7, during which Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israeli territory. In addition to his involvement in the attack, he participated in the kidnapping of Israelis and their transfer to the Gaza Strip.

Joint Airstrike in Khan Younis

The elimination was carried out in a joint IDF and Shin Bet airstrike in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza. The military explained that the decision to target the Nukhba commander was based on his continued terrorist activities against Israel and the ongoing threat he posed to security forces and civilians.

Continued Terrorist Activity During the War

According to the military's statement, Abu Jalalah continued planning and advancing terrorist attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians throughout the war.

His activities reportedly continued in recent months, alongside efforts to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities, which had been significantly damaged during the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
