The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced Tuesday that strikes carried out last Thursday across the Gaza Strip destroyed three weapons depots used by Hamas's military wing. According to the announcement, the depots contained dozens of weapons of various types intended for use by Hamas operatives.
Among the weapons stored at the sites were RPG launchers, rocket launchers, rockets, Kalashnikov rifles and additional military equipment. The strikes were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to weaken Hamas's military capabilities and prevent the terrorist organization from rebuilding its weapons stockpiles in the Gaza Strip.
The IDF and Shin Bet stated that precautions were taken before the strikes to minimize the risk of harm to civilians. These included issuing advance warnings to residents, using precision-guided munitions and conducting aerial surveillance of the targeted areas.
The security forces emphasized that operations against terrorist infrastructure in Gaza will continue, focusing on destroying weapons and preventing terrorist organizations from restoring their operational capabilities. They also stated that forces will continue acting against weapons intended for use against IDF soldiers.
Meanwhile, Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the existing agreement. The IDF clarified that alongside this deployment, operations will continue to eliminate immediate threats to troops operating in the area.
