Trump Says US Has Already Won War With Iran as Military Buildup Continues

The US military continues to strengthen its presence in the Middle East. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump said Tuesday evening that he is "not committing to resuming the war with Iran."

During an interview with the American network 12 News, Trump stated that the United States had already won the war and could withdraw as early as tomorrow.

"We are going to win this war very soon. We could win this war tomorrow. In fact, we could walk away from the war today because we've already won. We just need to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons," the president said.

US Deploys Additional Military Forces to the Region

Trump's remarks came after US Central Command confirmed that additional American military forces were being deployed to the Middle East.

According to the Pentagon, the United States has been reinforcing its combat forces in the region for several weeks. An additional aircraft carrier and approximately 10,000 troops are expected to be deployed there soon.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt is expected to join the USS George Washington, which is already operating in the region, and the USS George H. W. Bush, which is heading back to the Middle East following a temporary stop in Asia.
